SOCCOM Float List

A brief description of the floats that have been deployed and access to Ascii, tab delimited (ODV compatible) flat files containing either raw or QC/adjusted data for each float. Floats with adjusted and quality controlled data are shown with a QC in the file name. These adjusted data were adjusted by correcting oxygen data for sensor gain using air oxygen values (Johnson et al., J. Atm. Ocean. Technol., 2015). Nitrate data were corrected for gain (rarely), sensor offset and sensor drift. Offset and drift were determined by comparison to 1000 to 2000 m nitrate values from a multiple linear regression equation fitted to nitrate values observed on deployment cruises and historical GO-SHIP data. pH values were adjusted for sensor offset or drift by comparison to similar MLR equations. Equations are described in Williams et al. (in review, Geophysical Research Lett.).


Direct access to files can be made with a URL request like: http://www3.mbari.org/lobo/Data/FloatVizData/QC/0068RossSeaQC.txt, which returns the QC file for float 0068RossSea. This file contains temperature and salinity data at the lower resolution of the chemistry data.
