THE 1997-98 EL NIŅO ATLAS
OF OCEANOGRAPHIC CONDITIONS ALONG THE WEST COAST OF NORTH AMERICA
Vertical Distributions
Vertical distributions of
temperature, salinity, density anomaly, nitrate, phosphate,
silicate, nitrite and chlorophyll for the different transects are also available
as gif images.
The vertical distribution
of the physical properties are plotted from sea surface
to 500 m depth. However, for nutrient and chlorophyll the distributions
are only to 100, 150 ,
200
or 500m depending on each transect. The
aspect ratio is the same for all the distributions. For this reason, we have
not showed the entire line P section, and we present the vertical distributions
to station P15 (~700 km offshore).
The contouring package v. 6.0.3 from
Golden Software (1995) with kriging as interpolation method.
