Objectives
(1) To obtain near real-time bio-optical measurements to ground-truth satellite
measurements of ocean color.
(2) To determine the relationships between physical forcing, primary production,
nitrate supply and the exchange of carbon dioxide between ocean and atmosphere.
(3) To determine, quantitatively, the biological and chemical responses to climatic and
ocean variability.
(4) To determine the spatial, seasonal and interannual variability in near surface
plant pigments, primary production, carbon dioxide and nutrient distributions.
