There are two tables in the BOG database containing taxonomic data, TAXA and TAXA_AL.  The table TAXA contains derived data from the counts in the TAXA_AL table.  Table 1 describes the fields in the TAXA table; Table 2 describes the TAXA_AL groups that make up the taxa fields in TAXA. Table 3 contains group summation calculations.

The counts were made by Kurt Buck (1988-1999), Roman Marin (2000-2004), Sara Tanner (2005-2014).  The PI for this data is Francisco Chavez, database administrator is Reiko Michisaki Tim Pennington collects the water samples from the BOG cruises.
