Flow Injection Analysis
Iron concentrations measured at sea during IronEx II using flow injection analysis in a 10x10 km patch of seawater fertilized with 2 nM iron. Concentrations observed on several transects through the patch are shown with the target iron distribution (2 nM for 5 km from the patch center) shown for reference. The observed concentrations are lower and spread over a greater distance due to horizontal diffusion.
