Mike Pinto writes: Morale Night! Every Saturday, a group “volunteers” to cook and serve dinner for the rest of the ship’s crew. Well it’s the science party’s turn and we picked the weekend that many of us, to say the least, are feeling a little bit under the weather due to the sea conditions. I, along with several others who will remain nameless, was not looking forward to the task of making 48 pizzas (from scratch) Saturday afternoon.
Although Rob McEwen (our Morale Night liaison) had given each of us assignments, it turned out twenty five percent of our group were nowhere to be found, an equal number were missing in action from time to time to “recuperate” from the sights and smells, while the remainder of the group accomplished most of the work. While I will not name names, I admit I was part of the second group.
With the assistance of a galley crewman, the pizza assembly process worked like clockwork. Along with buffalo wings and desserts, dinner was a success with many crewmen coming back for seconds.
Excuse me – I think I need to go back to my room…..
