Background Several ships were used during the MUSE project to deploy vehicles, take measurements, and to retrieve moorings. The R/V New Horizon sailed from San Francisco for a three week cruise around Monterey Bay to deploy drifters and follow upwelling fronts. AUV's were deployed from the R/V Point Sur and the R/V Shana Rae. The R/V Ricketts was used to launch a towfish and drogues and take CTD measurements of upwelling events. Lastly, the R/V Point Lobos, along with the ROV Ventana, explored the biology and chemistry of the upwelling events in the bay. |
